Azerbaijan Airlines Suspends Selected Russia Service From late-Dec 2024

Azerbaijan Airlines (AZAL) since Saturday (28DEC24) suspended selected service to Russia, the airline announced on earlier this week.

Affected routes include the following.

Baku – Grozny 2 weekly Embraer E190 (This route was resumed on 15DEC24 after 3-month hiatus)
Baku – Makhachkala
4 weekly A319/320 (Suspended since 25DEC24)
Baku – Mineralnye Vody
5 weekly Embraer E190
Baku – Sochi
3 weekly Embraer E190
Baku – Ufa
2 weekly Embraer E190
Baku – Volgograd
2 weekly Embraer E190 (This route was previously filed until 11JAN25 only)

AZAL continues to operate following service to Russia, although certain frequency variations may occur:
Baku – Astrakhan 3 weekly Embraer E190

Ekaterinburg 2 weekly Embraer E190 (Selected dates A319/320 in January 2025)
Baku – Kazan
3 weekly Embraer E190 (2 weekly 14JAN25 – 10MAR25)

With the exception of Grozny, Russian carrier S7 Airlines codeshares on all AZAL service between Azerbaijan and Russia. The airline’s press release also stated service to Saratov, Nizhniy Novgorod and Vladikavkaz are also suspended, these routes are not filed in future schedule listing.
