SAS NS24 Peak Season Svalbard Service Increases

SAS during Northern summer 2024 peak season plans to increase service to Svalbard, as the airline schedules up to 10 weekly Oslo – Longyearbyen flights between 28JUN24 and 10AUG24 (week of 14-20JUL24 and 28JUL24 – 04AUG24 is 9 weekly), compared to 8 weekly during same period in 2023.

SAS previously in 2020 prior to the pandemic planned increase from 8 to 10 weekly. During week 29 2020, it operated only 4 weekly flights.

Separately, the airline has reduced operations during "midnight sun" hours when compared to 2023 schedule. In 2023, the airline operated twice weekly flights with arrival and departure time at Longyearbyen between 0030 and 0230hrs between 11JUN23 and 30JUL23. This has been reduced to once a week, between 28JUN24 and 09AUG24.
