United Adds Tokyo – Kaohsiung Service From July 2025

United Airlines on Thursday (14NOV24) evening Eastern Time opened reservations to its planned Tokyo Narita – Kaohsiung service, scheduled to commence on 11JUL25 (Tokyo departure). Reflecting its announcement on 10OCT24, the Star Alliance carrier plans to operate this route once a day with Boeing 737-800 aircraft.

This service marks the return of US carrier serving Kaohsiung in Southern Taiwan, when Northwest Airlines discontinued this route in June 2003. When including Continental Airlines, this indirectly marks the return of United service to Kaohsiung, as Continental Micronesia served Kaohsiung from October 1993 to April 1998 with Boeing 727 aircraft between Guam and Kaohsiung. By late-1995, service consolidated to Guam – Kaohsiung – Taipei and Guam – Taipei – Kaohsiung routing.
