Sichuan Airlines from August 2023 plans to launch new service to The Maldives, as the airline schedules Chengdu Tianfu – Male nonstop flight, on board Airbus A320 aircraft. The airline’s schedule listing is displaying 3 weekly flights from 01AUG23.

Male Velana International Airport is the host airport of Air Service World Congress 2024 (July 2024; The 2023 edition of Air Service World Congress is hosted by Oakland Airport, 17 – 19JUL23).
